We are happy to announce that the 2024 edition of the ROSENET conference will take place at:
Istanbul Technical University (ITU), Main (Ayazağa) Campus

Location: Ömer Korzay Conference Saloon, Electrics & Electronics Faculty, İTÜ Ayazağa Campus, 34469 Maslak-Sarıyer/İSTANBUL https://g.co/kgs/vGDsgx9

After entering the university campus from the main gate, walk straight for 10 minutes to see the MED building which is the Central Classroom Building. From MED you can take a look at some souvenirs from ITU-Store or enjoy the coffee shops. The Electrics & Electronics Faculty building is just across the road. The conference will be on floor -1.

How to Get There

From Airports:
Istanbul Airport (IST):
The M11 Airport Metro line is connected to the M2 Metro line via Gayrettepe station. From Gayrettepe, take the M2 line towards Hacıosman and exit at ITU Ayazağa Station.
Alternatively, you can take HAVAİST shuttles and get off at the 4. Levent stop. From there, transfer to the M2 Metro line and proceed to ITU Ayazağa Station.
Sabiha Gökçen Airport (SAW):
From Sabiha Gökçen Airport, you can take HAVABÜS shuttles. These shuttles cross the bridge and stop at Levent and Taksim. From either stop, you can take the M2 Metro line and exit at ITU Ayazağa Station.
Note: The Levent station is closer to the university.

By Taxi:
Taxis are widely available in Istanbul. However, as Istanbul is a bustling city that attracts many tourists and locals, finding a taxi on the street during peak times may be challenging. In such cases, you can use the BiTaksi app to call a taxi.
Local (yellow and blue) taxis generally accept cash only, while BiTaksi also accepts credit cards.
If traveling from Sabiha Gökçen Airport, keep in mind that the fare will be significantly higher than public transportation due to the long distance and the additional cost of crossing the bridge.

Getting Around Istanbul

Istanbul is well-connected by public transportation. An Istanbul Kart can be used for buses, trams, and ferries. It can be purchased at from Istanbulkart Vending Machines near metro, tram and bus stops. It cost 50 TL per card. You can load credits at the same machine with cash or bank card

 Bus Schedules: Check bus routes and schedules here.
 Ferry Schedules: The Bosphorus Strait is heavily used for transportation as well as
leisure travel. From campus By M2 and then changing in Taksim to Kabatas by funikuler they can reach the seaside in a much faster way than buses as they get stuck in a traffic jam regularly as you know. Or M2 to Halic and enjoy the stunning view and walking down to the tram to reach the Eminonu ferries.

Points of interest in the city are accessible via the metro and tram network:
From the M2 Metro line, you can reach Taksim, to visit the Taksim Square and other places or change to other metro lines.

The funicular offers a nostalgic journey from Taksim to Kabataş. From Kabataş, using the T1 tram line you can visit the Old City (Grand Bazaar, Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia). Or you may take a ferry to the Asian side of the city by using your transportation card same way as metro or bus the journey takes approximately 20 minutes.

Finally, the Moovit app is a helpful tool for navigating Istanbul. It provides bus and tram schedules, real-time arrival information, step-by-step directions, and detailed maps. You can use it to travel to any attraction, street, or major public transit station in Istanbul. Google maps are not the most reliable as they do not show delays and all the options of transportation but work as well.

Hotels:
When selecting a hotel to stay, it is suggested to consider the hotels near Maslak or on the M2 line generally. Hotels in the Old City/Eminonu area may be more expensive and also overpopulated.
